Day 3: Your First Love

Once upon a time…. In the far distant past, there was a 9th grade girl who fell in love with a 9th grade boy who paid attention to her. He made her feel like she was worth love. The two never dated, and the two never ended up together. However, he showed up in her life when she needed it the most. He wiped her tears away when she allowed herself to be weak. He protected and defended her when she didn’t even feel like she could do that for herself. He never knew the depth of the feelings that this 9th grade girl had for him. He may never know. She may not have been his first love, and he may not have loved her the way she loved him, but he broke down a wall that she had built up, and she finally allowed herself to fall.

That 9th grade girl, will always be grateful for that!! He never broke my heart, instead, in his own way… he mended it.

The End…. Of the beginning!

Day 2: Meaning behind your blog name

Ahhh.. The meaning behind my blog name. WELL… I answer that every day… You see, this blog was created as an “Accountability” for my weight loss journey. It started in 2007 when I decided to start doing Nutri System in an attempt to lose weight. It worked for 9 months…. And then it stopped working. It doesn’t happen like that for everyone… For me it did. I had started sending emails out because I was noticing a difference, and then someone told me that I should start a blog. So I did.

There have been crazy lapses in time between posts… however, this journey of weight loss… It’s on going. It’s a battle every day. MY LOSER WAYS is just that… It’s for me.. I’m proud to be a “loser” because it means that I’ve gained so much more in life and experience!! I’m losing it, and I’m darn proud of it!!

Day 1: Introduce, recent picture of yourself, 15 interesting facts

Day 1

My Name is Christie

1. I am 32 years old

2. I live in a small town in North Carolina that is very VERY close to a large city.

3. I went to Appalachian State University

4. My dog “Bella” is a little neurotic, has a LOT of fur, doesn’t like children (or very many people for that matter), but she is the light of my days and I love the crazy antics and stress she brings me.

5. I had Gastric Bypass Surgery on November 2, 2009.

6. To date, I have lost 155 lbs, and I have more energy and vitality than I ever have!

7. The Guy is my boyfriend. I met him July 3, 2011 at the pool in my neighborhood. I had been laying out in my backyard and knew that they had been drinking that day (from their conversation, the mentioned that they had been drinking all day). Someone mentioned something about being hungry, and I had just cooked a pork loin and ate all that I could of it, so I sliced it up, and took it up to the pool. I was feeling grungy, and dirty, and I had nothing better going on.. so I was thinking I would just go meet some neighbors, etc. Low and behold The Guy was up there with his friends, visiting my neighbor Krisi. Turns out Krisi is a girl I went to high school with. SMALL WORLD!!

8. I fit my butt into a size 12 pair of jeans this AM. They were snug, but they were button fly jeans!! WHAT?!?!?!?!? THEY BUTTONED!!!!! I dried my hair while wearing those jeans today!

9. My parents have been married for 39 years, and seem to be more in love today than the day they got married. I LOVE that!

10. I am a middle child to an older sister and a younger brother.

11. I have the most BEAUTIFUL nieces to ever be born!

12. I call them “BeeBug” and “LadyBug”

13. I sleep with a lime green blanket! I got it when I graduated from high school, and don’t ask me why, but I can’t seem to sleep without it.

14. I got my sister the same type of blanket when she graduated from College.. she too now sleeps with her blanket, and has a hard time sleeping without it. haha

15. The most relaxing place I have ever been.... Maui, Hawaii!! I WILL GO BACK!!!

and now for a recent picture of Moi!

That was taken at the wedding February 10, 2012

I was dancing, and singing... go figure

Stay tuned for tomorrow!!! Day 2!!

30 Day Challenge? I'm In!

So Haleigh brought up a great point about a renewed energy on her blog. These Carolina days lately have been sunshiny, warm, and beautiful. It’s those types of days that do bring on a renewed energy.

So The Guy calls last night and says “Let’s go to the beach this weekend! Put Bella in the kennel, and lets head down for Saturday night!” Soooooo…. We’re headed to the beach this weekend, and it could not come at a better time!! Next week is going to be one CRAZY week, as our longest running show begins on the 29th, and I have to host a VIP Media Coffee, Media Days, be the Show Photographer, and basically run around like a chicken with my head cut off. I love my job, but… as with any job, it has it’s crazy moments. My crazy moments will be next week. I can handle it! With a beach trip tomorrow, I’ll get to put my feet in some sand, smell the salty ocean air, AND spend time with The Guy! Ahhh… I love the beach! Renewed Energy, I’m there!

Haleigh also started the 30 day Challenge. Basically every day for 30 days, I’ll blog about random things. Below is a list of the things I’ll cover. I have attempted things like this in the past, but never followed through with it. HOPEFULLY, I’ll have the follow through this time! I have this girl to thank for getting me back into blogging. Ramblings and a guest post! yay

I am trying here.. I promise I am! I was asked to do a guest post for DIY Davis Style, and came up with an AWESOME DIY Magnetic Chalk Board. I was so excited to do it, and it turned out great! Hop on over to her blog if you’d like to check it out.
I know I haven’t blogged since January, and here it is February 21st, and I’m just now getting back to it. Some things have just come up in life and work, and it has taken me for a ride this month. Do you ever feel like you’re struggling just to stay above the craziness? That’s a little how it’s been this month.
I have had some great trips though. We went to the mountains and had an amazing dinner with my parent’s best friends. That was a great little get away! The next weekend, I went to a friend’s sister’s wedding down in Atlanta. It was a Friday wedding, and it was perfect! GREAT food, GREAT music, and GREAT FRIENDS!!! I loved it! I took my sister with me as my “plus one” because the guy wasn’t able to take time off from work for a Friday wedding.
It worked out perfectly though, because on Saturday morning, my sister and I drove to Macon to visit my 90 year old grandmother. This woman may be 90 years old, but she beat our TAILS in Wii Bowling!!! She bowled strikes left and right, and left Susan and I in the dust! Saturday night, we went to dinner at my Aunt and Uncle’s house and got to hang out with them, along with my cousin Michelle and her sweet baby girl. I love spending time with my family. Even though I don’t live in Macon, Home is where your family is, and where love resides. I feel Home there! I feel Love there! It’s a great feeling!!
Let’s see… This past weekend, on Friday night, the Guy and I went to his parents for dinner, and then we went out with some friends. It was a wonderful night! Saturday, was BEAUTIFUL outside and I got a LOT of stuff done, including… the dreaded task of cutting the backyard! I am so glad I watched while my friend rethreaded the grass trimmer, because the line broke halfway through the job, and I was able to rethread my line PERFECTLY! My grass looks so healthy! The bad part?? Bella has white paws.. White paws on freshly mowed lawn.. equals… the dreaded Green Pawed Dog! I wish I would have taken some pictures of that, because that was a little funny! Saturday night, my best friend and her two babies came over for dinner and to spend the night. We had a great time! The kids watched movies and fell asleep on the couch and Chris and I got some good Girl Talk Time in! Sunday AM, the Guy took me to a Hibachi Grill and Buffet place for lunch. YUM! And the time spend with the Guy was awesome too! Haha.
I do hope to blog a little more when things calm down a little. I don’t even know who reads this… if anyone really does anymore.. I do have big hopes for this blog. Even if my actions don’t speak it! :-)

I’m off to get more stuff done! I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week!! I will post pictures of all the above listed events later on. Haha!
